Guideline for Authors

Manuscripts submitted to the Maldives Journal of Engineering and Technology (MJET) must be original and address current industrial and professional topics. Authors must ensure that manuscripts have not been previously published, are not under consideration elsewhere for publication, and are not copyrighted.

1. Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts submitted for review to the Maldives Journal of Engineering and Technology (MJET) must adhere to the following detailed guidelines:

  • Language:

Manuscripts must be written in English to ensure clarity and accessibility to a broad audience of researchers and professionals.

  • Author Information:

Include the full names, affiliations, and email addresses of all authors. This information helps identify and contact the authors and their institutions.

  • Abstract and Keywords:

Provide a concise abstract of 150-200 words summarizing the main objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the study. Include a list of up to five keywords that best describe the content of the manuscript. These elements facilitate indexing and help readers quickly grasp the scope of the article.

  • Structure:

Organize the manuscript into sections and sub-sections, numbered sequentially (e.g., 1., 1.1., 1.2., etc.). Clear section headings enhance readability and logical flow of the manuscript.

  • Figures and Tables

Ensure each figure and table is accompanied by a clear and descriptive title. Integrate figures and tables into the text where they are most relevant to enhance understanding. Number figures and tables sequentially (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1) for easy reference.

  • Use of External Materials

When referencing materials published elsewhere, ensure proper citation rather than paraphrasing or reproducing content. This includes citing previous studies, theories, or methodologies used in the manuscript.

  • Appendices

Include supplementary materials such as proofs, calculations, and derivations in an Appendix, particularly if these details are extensive and could interrupt the flow of the main text. Appendices should be referenced in the main text where appropriate.

  • References

Arrange references in the order they appear in the text, using a consistent citation style. Only include references that are cited in the manuscript to maintain relevance and credibility. Follow the IEEE numbered style for references

  • Formatting

Adhere strictly to the journal's manuscript template for formatting guidelines, including margins, fonts, spacing, and citation style. Consistent formatting helps maintain professionalism and readability.
